Ladybridge Athletic staged a late comeback to win 3-2 against a strong Bury Youth FC side in an exciting game at Ladybridge High School on Saturday 19th October 2013.
I scored the first goal of the game. Max crossed the ball in from the right and I volleyed it straight at the keeper. He dived full stretch and stopped the ball with his fingertips but I tapped it in with my left foot.
Later on in the game, Bury drew level with a good goal to the left of our team’s keeper, Declan Watson.
A few minutes into the second half, Bury Youth took the lead with an astonishing shot.
With two minutes to go, man of the match Max Perry drew Ladybridge level. He scored an amazing goal placing the ball in the top left corner from the right wing.
Then, with virtually the last kick of the game, Tom Syddall scored the winner from the edge of the box after another one of Max Perry’s shot was blocked. The ball ended in the back of the net and below the crossbar.
Both teams played fantastic football and either side deserved the win. They were each clapped off at the end of the game.
